Comics Alive | A revolutionary new online approach to aquiring fluency in English

Comics Alive is a programme designed to assist Speakers of English as a Second Language improve their fluency and gain greater control of the English language.
Comics Alive is owned and operated by ELTA (the English Language Tutorial Academy), an institute in Dublin, Ireland, specialising in teaching English interactively, and focusing on spoken English.
Comics Alive assists students at two levels only: pre-intermediate and upper intermediate or CEF B1 and CEF B2 (Common European Framework B1 and B2).

First you do a level test. This consists of short translation passages, from your language into English, at progressive levels of difficulty.
Then you will have a brief telephone interview.
You will be advised which level is right for you.
Now you are ready to begin. You can choose to work either computer-to-computer, or on the phone.
Then you tell us your hours of availability. For example, Tuesday and Thursday 19 hours, local time, and we will call you. You must make sure that you will be free from any kind of interruption, and absolutely free to focus on your English for the period of your lesson.

Classes are measured in 25 minute periods and cost € 11.47 for group lessons, and €24.85 for private lessons. Group lessons consist of 3 – 5 students per teacher. The minimum number of classes a client can buy at one time for a group lesson is 10. The minimum number of classes a client can by for a private lesson is 5.
There is absolutely no guarantee that the book the student has started will have finished when the credit finishes. If credit runs out before the book has finished and the student wishes to finish the book, he or she will have to buy more credit in order to do so.
The cost of the classes does not include the cost of the books, the prices for which vary.
Books can be bought from us and mailed to the student, or bought by the students themselves, from Amazon or elsewhere. You are advised to buy from us only as a last resort as posting from Ireland will add considerably to the cost of the book.
Clients can pay for classes (and books where relevant), either directly to our bank in Ireland, or to our agent in Japan, via bank transfer. The details necessary for these transactions will be given to you when you register.

Comics Alive is designed to increase your fluency. It is not designed to prepare a student for an exam such as IELTS or TOEFL. If students require this kind of support, they should look elsewhere. However, if they feel they have already acquired basic English, but their fluency is less than they wish it to be, we believe that they will find this method engaging, fast and highly effective.
